It is now under 1 month until Lisa's due date. She was having irregular contractions all last night, which started after we ate at Fuddrucker's. We've been there 3 times, and they have a "Feed a Family of 4 for $20!" deal. It's great. It works.
I've been going through the ordination process at my church. On Sunday, I will receive my official credentials, which will allow me to officiate weddings and funerals, and make it easier for me to get into prison... as a minister, not as a convict. Although...
Oliver is talking a lot-- and it's adorable. Harmon is always trying to get him to say more things. A recurring conversation theme will go like this:
H: Ollie, say "Twinkle little star."
O: No.
H: Yes, Ollie say "Twinkle little star."
O: No!
H: Ollie say it! TWINKLE!
O: NO!
H: YES!
O: TWINKLE STAR!
H: Mom! Dad! Ollie say it!
O: Truck.

I am 29 today. I received a loving phone call with a new arrangement of the birthday song. I took my dog out to do her business (her stock portfolio looks good, I guess). I fed my dog. I sat down to write this, and saw this commercial (below).
It made me well up.
My soul praises God, maker of all things.
My heart yells to its master and friend.
God, do not be far from me!
God, draw me nearer to you!
Lead me in fatherhood and marriage.
Make me true in covenant and promise.
Make my path straight, Light of the World.
You are my hope and my everlasting salvation.
You are just when I am not.
You love mercy when I do not.
You sacrificed while I was yet unwilling.
You love when I do not.
And you teach me to love even more every day.
May my heart beat with yours.
That I might have compassion and obedience.
That I would have mercy and obedience.
That I could have love and obedience.
And so, that I walk humbly with you, my friend and God.
May my words and my heart offer you sweet smelling sacrifice.
For you, oh YHWH, are one.
For you, oh YHWH, are God of all things.
I praise you, Yeshua, God.
I ask for your breath to fill me again and again,
So that I may exhale your praises.
In the love of Jesus Christ, I offer my praises and myself to you.
Be honored today.

I preached at the Go! youth event at Crosspoint Church in DePere, Wisconsin. God's word for them was:
1. Be more than a youth group
2. Read, Study, and Pray
3. Do more than is expected
4. Worship Freely
Thanks to Pastor AJ for inviting me. Thanks to Pastor Jerry for the soup!

Don't make fun of it too bad, okay?
One cool project I've been working on is digitizing video of sermons from our youth services and making them available on our website. So, for The Underground sermons, you'll be able to find them on the CCV website. But I'll also post my sermons on this blog. I'm experimenting with a few different video services, including Tangle.com (formerly GodTube), Vimeo, and Viddler.
I haven't determined the best service for us yet, but I'm thinking it's between Vimeo and Viddler. Tangle just doesn't have the quality or presentation I'm going for. It doesn't look "sharp". Viddler allows a user (or organization) to upload a PNG file to use as a logo, thereby allowing the video to be branded by the user rather than the service (take thatvimeo!).
So, look for the videos coming up.

It's been a looooong time since I put finger to key in order to web log on the world wide web, so here goes with the updates.
- Kris Allen won American Idol. This was great, and I'm sorry I stole the experience of reading my commentary on the whole season from you. The family preferred I watch with them, not near them typing. So excited was I by this victory that last night, I actually dreamed I was a contestant in American Idol, and I was praying with Kris Allen that he do well. Also someone who was a 6 ft. tall toddler beauty contestant turned from a dog into a human and back again at some point.
- Speaking of dogs, there is sad news. Marley, my friend, left this world about six weeks ago. We miss him, and think about him often, which leads me to number 3
- Number 3, we got a beagle puppy. It's a girl, and we named her Scout, after a character in my favorite novel: To Kill a Mockingbird. Tell me that is not an amazing book, and I will mock you for a small world view and under-developed social conscious. And then apologize and tell you it's not your fault, rocking you back and forth until we have a breakthrough.
- We are still waiting for the final grading of our yard to be installed (is that the right word???). So that also means no grass yet. That means the grass will be coming in sometime in July or August, the hottest months of the year. Which means that all of my green initiatives will be undone by the amount of water I will have to pour into the pores of my yard. So sorry, Planet!
More to come. Life feels good right now, so I want to write about it. Also, something I noticed: when I'm happy, I either blog or write nothing. When I'm down or moody, I journal. My journal must think my life is terrible, but I keep telling it that I'm not. No, my journal does not have a name. It's just a notebook, not a friend. Or a puppy. Or Ikea furniture.
